"Glitch Falls" by Robert McCall
This black and white artwork shows a waterfall that's melting into digital static. The top half looks like a normal forest scene with trees and a waterfall. But as your eye moves down, everything starts to break apart into vertical lines, like when a TV signal goes bad.
It's as if nature is being downloaded and some data got corrupted along the way. The peaceful waterfall turns into a mess of pixels and noise. You can still make out the shape of the falls, but it's fragmented and distorted.
The piece makes you think about how we experience nature through screens and digital images nowadays. Sometimes technology enhances our view of the world, and sometimes it garbles things up. This artwork captures that idea in a simple, striking way that any gamer or tech-savvy person would appreciate.
