The Power of the Logo

Logos (n) -  1580s, "the divine Word, second person of the Christian Trinity," from Greek logos "word, speech, statement, discourse," also "a computation, account," also "reason, judgment, understanding," from PIE *log-o-, suffixed form of root *leg- (1) "to collect, gather," with derivatives meaning "to speak," on notion of "to pick out words." The Greek word was used by Neo-Platonists in metaphysical and theological senses involving notions of both "reason" and "word" and subsequently picked up by New Testament writers

The Power of a Logo

Every great business starts with a logo. Think of it as your company's face. It speaks to your customers before you do. A logo is not just art. It is the identity of your business.

The logo that appears on this website comes from music. It’s a derivation of the “in-between” interstitional notes, the space that exists between, and is on the boundaries of creativity. It’s based around the philosophy of Deleuze and Guittari, and is the culmination of many hours of research. And it just so happens to look like a swing note, and an upside down golf club, so it resonates nicely with my interest in golf.

Branding: More Than Just a Name

Branding goes beyond logos. It is the voice and tone of your business. It includes colors, fonts, and the way you communicate. A strong brand tells your story. It sets you apart from competitors.

My story pertains to me. So, it’s art based, rhizomatic (educational), creative, outdoors, nomadic and experimental, like me. It’s the best representation of me, which makes it unique.

Everyone has a backstory. And everyone has a logo and brand. In my opinion, it means going deep. Philosophical, and outside your comfort zone, for it lies in the “in between” space.

The clothing, posters and branding created on this website, are me. And they provide insight about me.
